Jim Hamil is a celebrated watercolorist in the Kansas City area. He is a freelance artist who graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Hamil was employed by Hallmark Cards from 1958 to 1973.
Hamil has always executed his paintings on a small-scale and on paper. Now, with new state-of-the-art technology of giclée printing, Hamil’s artwork can now be enjoyed on large-scale canvases. Giclée translates from French to mean “spits of ink,” which describes how high tech printers “spit” ink onto the canvas surface where it then mixes to create nuanced color variations previously unachievable in fine art printing processes.
